Marvel Comics is giving one of the world's most popular super anti-hero, Deadpool, his own prose novel. The Merc With a Mouth, will never be the same again, especially after novelist Stefan Petrucha (Teen, Inc.) puts Wade Wilson up against a lineup of killer dogs in Deadpool: Paws.
As we previously mentioned, Deadpool isn't the only Marvel character getting his own prose novel. Just before pint-sized superhero makes his big screen deabut, author Jason Starr (Twisted City) is also giving Ant-Man, aka Scott Lang, his own prose novel, entitled, Ant-Man: Natural Enemy. We're happy to see someone else getting their own prose fiction.
In the narrative, something is turning the city's lovable and huggable dogs into giant, bloodthirsty killing machines. Hired at a price he cannot say no to, the expensive mercenary is charged with taking care of this dirty business. The major problem facing Deadpool is that he actually likes dogs; he doesn't want to kill them.
In his press released, Marvel SVP Sales & Marketing David Gabriel discusses the major character dilemma facing the former X-Force villain, "Deadpool is such a fun character that transcends the comics themselves. When we were discussing which characters should get the prose treatment, Wade Wilson was always right near the top. From the first chapter, the book has everything you love about Deadpool, and I can't wait for fans to get their hands on it."
We loved the the team-up between Wade and the avenging archer. Previously, the two ended up butting heads over in Deadpool vs. Hawkeye. One man's special skill to hit the bullseye went up against a superhuman whose special power is that he can never stop talking.
Great for summer time reading, Deadpool: Paws is expect to hit stores on August 5, 2015. Readers, are you excited to the loudmouthed Merc With A Mouth take on mutated canines?
