Mars Landing 2012: Black Eyed Peas' Will.i.am to Premiere First Song on Red Planet [LIVE FEED]

Black Eyed Peas singer Will.i.am will debut his new single "Reach for the Stars" on Mars today (Aug. 28), which will be streamed through a live broadcast on the NASA TV website.

According to NASA and reported by Reuters, the broadcast will be part of a NASA educational event for students at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena, CA. The live stream of "Reach for the Stars" will debut at 4 p.m. EDT today (Tuesday).

"Reach for the Stars" is a musical tribute to Will.i.am's "passion for science, technology and space exploration."

According to NASA, the live feed will feature members of the Mars rover that successfully landed on the red planet earlier in August explaining to students the mission and the technology behind the "Reach for the Stars'" interplanetary transmission.

Will.i.am, an avid fan of NASA, once appeared in a NASA promotional video (which can be viewed below). The Black Eyed Peas front man has the honor of being the first human voice to be broadcast from another planet.
