With another new DC Comics TV show on the horizon, the CW network has added a new guest to join the upcoming horror/comedy series, iZombie, from executive producer Rob Thomas (Veronica Mars). Actor Steven Weber (Wings) joins the undead cast with leading lady Rose McIver and her non-dead friends, Malcolm Goodwin and Rahul Kohli.

Based on the Vertigo Comics series from writer Chris Roberson and artist Mike Allred, iZombie centers on Gwen Dylan, a gravedigger by day and a zombie private eye by night. In order to survive, Gwen has to feed on brains before her dead body starts to rot away. With her mind sharing someone else's thoughts and memories, the unlicensed private investigator has to fulfill the dead person's last request.

As reported here, there have been some changes made for the live-action adaptation. Gwen has now been renamed "Liv Moore" for the TV show. Our female lead now works in the city morgue, which happens to be a great place for dead bodies to keep popping up. Though Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti (Kohli) knows Liv is a member of the living dead, Clive Babinaux  (Goodwin) thinks she is just some sort of weird Goth freak.

According to Entertainment Weekly, The Shining actor appear in two episodes as a charismatic CEO of an energy drink company. The guest-starring stint will reunite the NCIS: New Orleans star with Thomas after having appeared on Party Down.

While Fox has the Batman prequel, Gotham, the CW is riding high on their superhero combo, The Flash and Arrow. With the crossover event taking place as we speak, will the scarlet speedster and green archer show up on iZombie?

iZombie will premiere on the CW sometime during midseason. Readers, are you excited to see Steven Weber?
