What happens when Wild star Reese Witherspoon and Jimmy Fallon take to The Tonight Show to replace the lyrics of Christmas carols with random phrases like "Slimy toad, bumpy toad"? Hilarity, that's what.
In the clip below, Witherspoon delivered a couple terrific performances, showing off the voice that won her an Oscar for her portrayal of June Carter Cash in 2005's Walk the Line ... but the star also forgets how to sing "Silent Night"! Luckily, she had Fallon to help guide her, and then the pair team up for an excellent Christmas crescendo.

Witherspoon was on The Tonight Show to promote her new movie Wild, which has seen the movie star gain substantial Oscar buzz.
In Wild, based on Cheryl Strayed's best-selling book Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail — Witherspoon plays Cheryl, "a hard-living woman who decides to hike the Pacific Crest Trail after the death of her mother," describes The Daily Mail.
In the interview below with Fallon, Witherspoon explained that Cheryl's "mother died, she got divorced and she just fell apart."
"And," Witherspoon continued, "she decided she was going to walk 1,000 miles form the Mojave Desert to the border of Washington, and she did it all by herself, all alone, for 94 days."
As for her experiences in the great outdoors, Witherspoon admitted that she's "not a big camper. I only went backpacking once in seventh-grade," she laughed, "and I somehow got Larry Underwood to carry my backpack for me because I promised I would kiss him behind the tents."
According to the New York Post, Witherspoon will be in line for an Oscar nod, saying, "You can bet on Reese Witherspoon receiving a Best Actress nomination for Wild, in which she delivers her finest performance since winning in that Oscar category a decade ago."
