It is a great day to be a Frozen fan! Disney has officially announced the release date for its new Frozen short film called Frozen Fever, so get your calendars ready.
Yes, it's true; Disney is releasing a new short film this spring. The studio announced that Frozen Fever would be unveiled on March 13, 2015 in theaters before its new live-action film, Cinderella.
According to E! Online, "Frozen Fever follows Elsa and Kristoff as they do their absolute best to ensure that Anna has a birthday celebration to remember. The only problem is, Elsa's icy powers seem to get in the way of some serious party planning."
"Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee are set to direct the short, which will feature an all-new original song by Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez," the publication reported.
In a recent interview, Idina Menzel (who voiced Elsa in the original film) also revealed that there was another film in the works as well as a possible stage musical. "That they're all in the works!" Menzel told The Telegraph when asked about the new plans for another Frozen film.
But will Idina be back for the next installment of the film and stage version of the hit musical? "Not the stage show — I don't know what will happen with that — but the movie hopefully. We'll see. I'm just going along for the ride," she told the publication.
The Wicked star also opened up about being recognized as the voice behind Elsa, which has shocked her. "I remember some of those classic Disney songs from movies, and you knew the character but you didn't know the person behind the song," the actress and singer revealed.
"But this is different, this is weird. All the little girls love Elsa but they also want to meet me. I think that's because of social media, and their parents say, 'Watch this, this is the girl at the Oscars.'"
