Looks like Toni Braxton finally realized she can't raise her sons alone. MStars News has learned that the Grammy Award winning singer has finally decided to sue her ex-husband, Keri Lewis for child support.
According to Sister 2 Sister, Braxton's ex has been refusing to pay child support for the former couple's two sons, Denim Cole Braxton-Lewis, and Diezel Ky Braxton-Lewis.
Braxton filed legal documents back in October in Georgia where she requested the courts make Keri pay child support.
The Braxton Family Values star married Lewis in 2001, and finalized her divorce in 2013.
Lewis, who was apart of the '90s group Mint Condition as the keyboardist, has been asked to pay $2,000 a month. That original order also has back child support that Lewis has failed to pay throughout the history of his payments.
Braxton, who has filed from bankruptcy twice in the past, seemed to be in good standards with her ex-husband, until now. On the hit reality TV show, it seemed that Lewis and Braxton got along fine with co-parenting.
Lewis and Braxton had a "amicable split" as Toni talked about her failed marriage back in 2012. "I had to figure out a plan for my life that had nothing to do with him," Toni said at that time. "I was angry with everybody. I couldn't believe this was happening to me. I felt that I was a person dealing with a lot of struggles and here comes another one."
Toni has also been diagnosed with Lupus and is dealing with that along with her child support drama. The singer recently revealed that she had an abortion earlier in her relationship with Keri Lewis, and claims that God gave her an autistic son, Diezel has her punishment.
In a 2014 interview with GMA, Toni said talked about her tell-all book, Unbreak My Heart: A Memoir where she said, "I found out my son had autism, I thought it was because I had the abortion, and I felt terrible about myself, I blamed myself...a lot of things I'm revealing in the book."
