CM Punk returned to his good friend Colt Cabana's podcast, Art of Wrestling, to follow up on the previous episode in which Punk detailed his departure from WWE. The second episode was all about closing this chapter in Punk's life and moving onto the next one, but of course he had some more comments about his time in the wrestling business, and one of the topics mentioned was a return.
Here's what Punk had to say about a return to professional wrestling at some point (transcribed by Cageside Seats):
"Let's play it safe and let's just definitely say it's way too f*cking early. I have no interest in f*cking going back. The difference in my appearance, my mental stability, like everything across the board from now to nine, 10 months ago is so drastically different. It's very much like after the WrestleMania 'Taker match and I left, and that was the first break I ever got -- two months. Eight weeks, if that. And I had a strained ACL, a torn PCL, strained MCL, and a torn meniscus. So I couldn't walk for the first week and a half, so my 'time off' was spent rehabbing. And then I got the call and he was like 'I need you back. Payback in Rosemont Horizon.' And I was like 'I do not want to come back. I do not want to come back until at least SummerSlam.' I was still trying to decompress from that. So compound that by another f*cking year of bullsh*t, and lies, and miscommunication, and you get where I'm at now."
