Two of the most iconic superheroes in history will unite on the big screen in live action for the first time when Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters in 2016. Henry Cavill returns as Superman, while Ben Affleck will step into the role of Batman. Christian Bale famously played The Dark Knight in Christopher Nolan's trilogy.
Bale is doing promotional work for Sir Ridley Scott's Exodus: Gods and Kings, and the actor recently sat down with IGN. The site asked him about Dawn of Justice, specifically if he thinks there was still more to explore with his iteration of Batman. Bale responded that The Caped Crusader is a "character that could have kept on going and going and going," but "it was right for Chris to finish it where he did."
Both Bale and Nolan have expressed this sentiment several times, but IGN pressed a bit further and asked about bringing Bale's version of the character into Zack Snyder's new world. "Ours doesn't belong in any other version at all," Bale replied. He added "it was appropriate to leave at the right time."
Badass Digest reports the sequel to Man of Steel will introduce Aquaman, Cyborg, The Flash and Doomsday into the movie. "Let me confirm for you that Doomsday is in the film," the site states.
The report has more information about another, lesser-known character called KGBeast. According to the site, the character will show up as Anatoli Knyazev, which was the human name of KGBeast before he became a villain. This transformation could occur in the movie, in a later movie, or not at all.
