If we can call it at least surprising that the Broncos could beat the Bills without getting a single touchdown from Peyton Manning, then what is the word for what linebacker Von Miller is wearing on his head?
Shocking?
Eye-catching?
A hate crime?
Here's what Miller had to say about the Hat Making All the Headlines on Broncos.com. Because naturally, somebody asked.
"I got this hat in Kyrgyzstan. During the USO tour. I went there during the USO Tour to see the troops and this is what I came back with. Its got a close spot in my heart, for me. This is a fox. From Kyrgyzstan. I got it at an Air Force Base."
Miller recorded two tackles and a sack in Denver's 24-17 victory. Miller's 13.0 sacks are fourth in the NFL, and he has recorded 47 sacks in his career.
That's usually where the conversation ends, because those numbers tend to speak for themselves. But Sunday he broke out that damn hat, the shocking, eye-catching, sure-to-get-PETA-pissed garment that is basically just a dead fox folded up.
"Those are actual feet," one reporter noted when seeing the paws dangling above Miller's ears.
"Actual feet, yeah." Miller replied. "They let me bring it back, so I'm wearing it."
It's NBA players that are notorious for wearing ridiculous post-game outfits, not NFL players, but Miller is gaining a reputation as a unpredictable post-game dresser with a special interest in headwear. It wasn't long ago that Miller pulled out this bad boy in the locker room.
At 6-foot, 3-inches, 250 pounds, are you going to be the one to tell him to take it off?
There may be small bear curled up on Von Miller's head. Or he may be really into this winter's fur trend. pic.twitter.com/P6kgmcmcoV
