With the holiday season also comes the winter finales of some of our favorite shows, including The Vampire Diaries. Now, fans of this show know all too well that these finales always bring with them some major cliffhangers in the form of a comeback, a new villain introduction, or more commonly, a major death. Paul Wesley, who plays Stefan on the CW hit, revealed that this year's finale would be no different and that fans should brace themselves because a huge death is coming their way.
According to E! News, who got the word straight from Wesley's mouth, there is sure to be a departure from the series for one of the main cast members and we honestly have no idea who it will be.
"Dude, there's always deaths," Paul teased of the finale, but not giving away too much. "There is a big one coming up, I will say that, there is a big one that's really going to break the people's hearts."
So who do fans think it could be. Will Bonnie officially die after countless scares, or will it be Sheriff Forbes, or maybe Damon will head right back to purgatory? We honestly have no idea, and if we know this show, they are definitely going to try to pull one over on us.
As for what we have been waiting for since probably season 3, it seems like Stefan and Caroline might actually put their issues behind them and head into a romantic direction. AHHHH we are freaking out. Could Steroline actually become a thing? According to Paul it will, it's just a matter of time.
"There's some beautiful moments and I do think ultimately that something will happen," Wesley explained of the romance, adding, "It's just a slow burn."
From the YouTube trailer above, it looks like Stefan and Caroline will share a passionate embrace in the winter finale, titled "Christmas Through Your Eyes."
