It's finally that time of year - hockey season!
The New York Islanders battle it out on the ice against the Minnesota Wild in Week 9 of the NHL regular season on Tuesday, December 9 at 8:00 p.m. EST at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul. Read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the Tuesday night hockey game online and catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.
Heading into the first few weeks of the 2014 regular season, the Islanders snag the impressive No. 5 spot in Scott Burnside's official power rankings for ESPN.com with a 19-8-0 record:
"You watch games like Saturday's 6-4 loss to St. Louis in which the Isles blew a 3-0 first-period lead, and you ponder whether or not they're the real deal. Still, what is undeniable is the fact the Isles have not lost two in a row in well over a month and lead the league with a 5-0 record in shootouts."
Meanwhile, the Wild currently hold the No. 17 spot (out of 30 total teams) with an 14-10-1 record. According to Burnside:
"The Wild are in a holding pattern at 2-2-1 in their past five games and hoping Ryan Suter's battle with the mumps doesn't last very long."
The game will be broadcasted live on local channels FSNO and MSG+, but fans can also listen in on the radio at 99.9 The Fan, WRHU, KWSN, and 740 The Fan.
