This news didn't come directly from Avril's own Twitter account, but a message to a devoted fan account, "Avril Lavigne Charts." This Twitter account posted a conversation between whomever is running the account and Avril, asking for fans to keep her in her prayers and that she's been absent from social media due to "health issues."

"I feel bad because I haven't been able to say anything to the fans to let them no why I've been absent," the singer told the fan account. "I'm torn as I'm quite private....I'm not feeling well. I'm having some health issues. So please keep me in your prayers."
