It's finally that time of year - hockey season!
The Toronto Maple Leafs battle it out on the ice against the Detroit Red Wings in Week 9 of the NHL regular season on Wednesday, December 10 at 8:00 p.m. EST at the Joe Louis Arena in Michigan. Following the first few opening weeks of the 2014 regular season, the Maple Leafs snag the No. 15 spot in Scott Burnsides's official NHL power ranking for ESPN.com with an 14-9-3 record:
"The Leafs have actually moved into a tie with the Boston Bruins in the Atlantic Division. Go figure."
Meanwhile, the Red Wings currently hold the impressive No. 3 spot (out of 30 total teams) with a 17-6-5 record. According to Burnside:
"The Wings continue to roll with a 3-1 win on Sunday over Carolina in Raleigh, North Carolina -- their third in a row and eighth in their past 10 games."
The game will be broadcasted live on local channels TVA, RSN, and CSNC, but fans can also listen in on the radio at CHML, AM 640, 97.1 The Ticket, and CJBK.
