El Rey Network's 'Lucha Underground' Presents Johnny Mundo vs. Puma In “The Top of the Ladder” [WATCH]

Now heading towards its seventh episode, El Rey Network raises the stakes even higher for its original wrestling series entitled, Lucha Underground. From Emmy award-winning Mark Burnett (Survivor), viewers should get ready for Johnny Mundo, former WWE star John Morrison, Prince Puma, and Big Ryck will have their longest fight yet in "The Top of the Ladder."  

Ever since launching his own network, celebrated filmmaker Robert Rodriguez has entertained audiences with his From Dusk Till Dawn TV series and the sports/espionage Matador. Now El Rey rides into lucha libre, the no-holds barred world of freestyle wrestling and high-flying aerial maneuvers. In Mexico's most popular sport, the masked villains and heroes confront against each other in thrilling one-on-one matches.

As we previously mentioned, Burnett takes wrestling fans backstage and gives them ringside seats, along with guest stars Danny Trejo (Machete). The masked villains and heroes tell their life stories before facing off against each other in a match. Get ready for your mind to be blown away by slingshot moves, colorful masks, and quick-moving combinations.

According to the plot synopsis, viewers should get ready for Dario Cueto to tempt his brand of luchadores in an uninterrupted twenty-five minute main event. This will be a three-way Ladder Match between Puma, Mundo and Big Ryck themselves. The three will race against each other to the top of the ladder. The first one to retrieve Cueto's briefcase will walk out with $100,000 in cash.

Prowrestling describes Puma as, "Another fantastic character is Lucha Underground's attempt to create a sure-fire homegrown star, Prince Puma. Puma is a 'descendent of Aztec warriors' (see what I mean about characters being created from legends) and he is one of the most athletic wrestlers in the world today."

As we previously mentioned, Matador was unfortunately cancelled and will not be returning for a second season. Let's keep watching and hope this doesn't happen to Lucha Underground as well.
