The much-talked about horror comic in the industry comes straight from Archie Comics. Just before the end of the year, a new installment arrives for Afterlife With Archie #7, leaving readers wondering if Archie Andrews and Veronica Lodge can save Betty Cooper from the zombie apocalypse in "Betty RIP."

As we previously mentioned, Sabrina the Teenage Witch caused the zombie apocalypse when her spell  went awry. In the pulse-pounding series, Archie's best friend, Jughead, and Moose ended up being taken down by the zombie horse. In the climatic fifth installment, Archie and the gang had to save goodbye to Riverdale as their once small and quiet town was burned to the ground.

After the sixth installment featured a solo standalone featuring Sabrina's lost time, we are now back with Archie and his last remaining friends. In the plot synopsis, the group is now wandering the deserted highways of America, one step ahead of the ever-pursuing vicious zombie horde. In their first post-apocalypse Thanksgiving, Mr. Lodge leads a team deep into the forests of Pennsylvania to find dinner. Soon  the hunters soon become the hunted...

In an interview with Comic Book Resources, writer and Archie Comics Chief Creative Officer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa teases more of the plot, "This issue picks up right where we left the gang at the end of issue #5, with them sneaking out of Riverdale, even as the town burned. The majority of this issue is set in the present -- written as entries in Betty's Diary -- but we do flashback to different points in Betty's life. We thought it might be fun to see Betty's first meeting with Veronica and Archie, during a more innocent time, especially in counterpoint to the daily horror of their current lives."

After getting burned off the map by the zombie apocalypse, the kids of Riverdale are going to face an even bigger threat, straight from outer space. Announced at the New York Comic Con, Dark Horse Comics and Archie Comics team-up for a special crossover event, Archie Meets Predator.

After the death of Archie Andrew made headlines, is Betty Cooper the next character to meet their untimely end? The story arc is titled "Betty RIP" for a reason.

Afterlife With Archie #7 is out in stores now? Readers, are you excited to see Archie take down zombies?
