The mid-season finale arrived for The Flash on the CW network, leaving anxious viewers with many questions. Not only was the secret identity of a major super villain revealed, the relationship between Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) and Iris West (Candice Patton) is only "going to get worse."
In our first recap, Barry (Gustin) woke up from his coma to find out the love of his life is with another man. Barry's feelings for Iris (Patton) were unnoticed as she became steady with Eddie Thawne (Rick Cosnett). He had to push aside his unrequited feelings because his father, Henry Allen (John Wesley Shipp) was in prison for a crime he didn't commit.
In the first part of crossover event, The Flash vs. Arrow, Barry couldn't stop smiling when he realized Iris had a crush on the scarlet speedster. But all good things must come to end as their romance came to an abrupt halt. Brainwashed by a metahuman, the Flash attacked Eddie, causing the detective to start a task force against him.
In our latest recap, Iris took a step further in her relationship with Eddie and moved in with him. With the Reverse-Flash putting her in danger, Barry had to tell Iris how he truly felt. Iris didn't know how to respond back as Barry spoke from the heart.
Patton reveals to The Wrap, "It gets rougher. It gets worse before it gets better. But if you know anything about Barry and Iris, they just have a relationship that will, I feel like, stand the test of time."

As to whether or not Iris will eventually find out Barry and The Flash are actually the same person, The Game actress teases, "I want to know that, but I don't write the show. I just show up to set."
