Looks like Keyshia Cole may have to do some time behind bars. MStars News has learned that the singer is facing up to 30 days in jail following a 2004 arrest warrant that was issued when she didn't prove that she attended mandatory alcohol ed class after a 2002 DUI conviction.
According to VIBE, Cole appeared in an L.A. County court earlier this week, where she was reprimanded after she failed to produce evidence that she attended alcohol ed class after a 2002 DUI conviction.
TMZ reveals that the singer's lawyer tried to tell the judge that Cole had in fact completed her class, but the judge seemed to disagree. The judge ruled that there was no paperwork to prove that Keyshia has completed the mandatory class, therefore she may face 30 days in jail.
The judge then said that he'd let the singer get by on jail time if she could submit proof that she did go to the classes. Cole's hearing is set for next year in February.
Keyshia wouldn't have been in trouble if it wasn't for her most recent arrest earlier this year when she assaulted a woman in Birdman's house prompting cops to perform a warrant check on the singer.
It seems the judge's words got to the singer as she chatted with some of her concerned fans via Twitter.
When one fan tweeted the singer, "30 days? Tf that's some bulls*it!" Keyshia answered back, "That's what the judge just said. What he said he meant."
Another tweet read, "30 days. Then I'll be out."
One Twitter follower asked, "Why were you in court? Everything turn out ok?" and the singer replied, "Something from 10 years ago. Smh"
It seems Keyshia has learned her lesson -- or at least that is what a photo she uploaded seems to indicate:
"The SAME boiling water that softens the potato hardens the egg. It's about what you're made of NOT the circumstance."
