The Lil Wayne verses YMCMB saga continues!
As several Cash Money fans probably already know, Weezy's NOT happy with his hip-hop industry bosses. In fact, brothers Bryan "Birdman" Williams and Ronald "Slim" Williams are trying to "ruin" the rapper's career by withholding the highly-anticipated release of his new album, The Carter V (allegedly):
@LilTunechi: "To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won't and hasn't been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it."
@LilTunechi: "This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation."
@LilTunechi: "I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain't that easy."
@LilTunechi: "I am a prisoner and so is my creativity Again,I am truly sorry and I don't blame ya if ya fed up with waiting 4 me & this album. But thk u."
Fellow emcees - including Hot Boys hypeman Turk and G.O.O.D. Music superstar Pusha T - agree that Weezy should officially "move on" if that's the right thing to do.
And apparently, that's exactly what the "How To Love" crooner is now trying to do:
@LilTunechi: "YM! That's it. Nothing else."
But according to TMZ, CM mogul Birdman won't let him off of the hook THAT easily.
Insiders insist that Birdman is angry and offended by Weezy's public rants against the high-profile label. The New Orleans native signed a contract - so tough luck.
Apparently, Birdman WILL release the repeatedly-delayed album, but only "on his time." Lots of administrative work goes into such releases - so as an artist, what would Weezy really know?
Ouch.
So, do MstarsNews readers agree that Weezy is a "prisoner" of the system, or should be just wait things out? Stay tuned...
