It has been quite the year for London human rights attorney Amal Alamuddin, who made a huge splash this year by doing what many thought was impossible. The Lebanese born starlet actually tied down George Clooney, a man who said he would never get married. This feat led her to beat out Chelsea Handler, Taylor Swift, Michael Strahan, George R.R. Martin, and even Oprah to become Barbara Walters' Most Fascinating Person of 2014.
According to the Huffington Post, Amal has a plethora of accolades including studying at both Oxford University and New York University School of Law, but also specializes in international law, human rights, and criminal law. She also has been representing Julian Assange, known by many as the WikiLeaks founder. However, it is her most recent title as a wife that has landed her the top honor on the TV personality's list.

The wedding seems like a very personal affair for Barbara as George told her specifically during an interview in 1995, "I'm never going to get married again," according to ABC News. He says that the interview became so publicized that he didn't have to tell women he was dating that he had no intention of marrying them, as Walters already had done that for him by broadcasting the one-on-one.
Barbara cites both Amal's "perfect" demeanor, "perfect" public speaking voice, and "perfect" style as reason that she is the most fascinating person. She also recalls the facts that, "no matter how long it takes, the perfect someone is out there for everyone," as being one of the biggest reasons she was honored with the number one spot.
