Is the host of the Today Show stepping out on his wife? Reports are claiming that Matt Lauer has not been faithful to his wife, Annette Roque, and that their relationship is coming to and end. The two, who have been together for 16 years of marriage and have three kids together, have hit some rough times lately. It seems that Lauer has moved out of the family's Hampton house, which they share, to take up residency in their New York City apartment.
According to Radar Online, Lauer has been plagued with rumors of his instability and his constant woman chasing behavior over the years, which have both caused a rift in his marriage. Allegedly all the rumors of infidelity have caused major fighting between Matt and his wife.
The news site is even reporting that Matt left his family for three months during the summer to stay in the city, during which time it was speculated that he had an affair. Lauer was spotted out and about with a mysterious blond back in July, The National Enquirer reported.
However, it looks like a close friend to Lauer is trying to explain that his city living was so that he could be closer to his job.
"Yes, he was spending more time at the New York City apartment because Savannah Guthrie was out on maternity leave," the insider explained. "Matt didn't take any time off for three months, and it was just easier for him to be in the city."
However, it seems that "he always tried to make it back to the family home in Long Island on the weekends."
Matt and Annette are allegedly working on their relationship, as an insider told the news site that Matt begged Annette to give him another chance and to take him back "for the sake of their three kids."
