Ryan Murphy's new FX series, American Crime Story: The People Vs. O.J. Simpson, is definitely making some amazing casting choices for the upcoming debut season of the American Horror Story sister series. After casting Oscar winner Cuba Gooding Jr. as the infamous suspected murderer and NFL great, Simpson, we've learned this week that Friends star David Schwimmer has joined the project as late attorney Robert Kardashian. Considering this show is casting the roles of real people, the actors portraying them have a serious job ahead of them - especially Schwimmer, who might have to tune into Keeping Up with the Kardashians to study how his character's children turn out!

Deadline reported on this casting news this week, explaining that the miniseries would take place during the notorious murder trial, telling the story from the lawyers' points of view. Schwimmer will take on one leading role with AHS alum Sarah Paulson taking on the role of Marcia Clark, the trial's prosecutor.

Warming Glow references a New York Times article about the relationship between Simpson and his defense attorney, Kardashian. To paraphrase, the late father of the biggest reality TV stars of the day stood by Simpson as a friend, thus helping him get cleared of the murder charges. The article goes on to say that Kardashian wasn't positive that Simpson was innocent of murder, which is sure to come up in the new TV series.

We recently learned that each season of ACS will focus on a different true-life trial, much like Murphy's American Horror Story changes plot lines and settings with each new season. This first season is set to premiere in Oct. 2015.
