It's finally that time of year - hockey season!
The Montreal Canadiens battle it out on the ice against the New York Islanders in Week 11 of the NHL regular season on Tuesday, December 23 at 7:00 p.m. EST at the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale. Following the first few opening weeks of the 2014 regular season, the Canadiens snag the impressive No. 8 pot in Scott Burnsides's official NHL power ranking for ESPN.com with a 21-11-2 record:
"The Habs have gone through some emotional times with the loss of Jean Beliveau and the honoring of Saku Koivu. The Habs are still in the hunt in the Atlantic Division with four wins in five. Interesting matchup Tuesday as they head to Long Island."
Meanwhile, the Islanders currently hold the awesome No. 3 spot (out of 30 total teams) with a 23-10-0 record. According to Burnside:
"The Islanders have won four straight and continue to put pressure on Pittsburgh atop the Metropolitan Division."
