With every January comes a new season of everyone's favorite singing competition. That's right folks: American Idol's about to start again, and we couldn't be more excited about it. The 14th season will kick off in just a few days, but it seems like this season is going to be unlike any other. While the show has been downgraded to one night per week and has lost a big sponsor in Coca-Cola, there's also another thing the creative team is trying, which is unveiling the top 24 talents super early.
We are talking so early that the faces of your top 24 have already been revealed. While we don't get to see a full image of the talented individuals, we do get to look on as their silhouettes move about in the new video that was just released:
The clip shows the top 24 as they belt out "Felling Good," but while we get to see their hair and body type, that's about all that's being revealed regarding the contestants's appearances.
So do you think from the clip you'll be able to tell who makes it to the top when the auditions start? You'll have to pay extra close attention.
This is the first time American Idol has even vaguely shown what the artists look like before the season starts, and it's just one of the many changes the program is undergoing in the past year.
While fans have grown used to the Coca-Cola cups on the judges tables, according to E! News, those won't be there anymore when the new season starts, as the soda company has pulled sponsoring.
"After 13 years, we feel it is the right time for the Coca-Cola brand to venture into new spaces and pursue other opportunities to connect with teens and leverage music as a passion point," a rep explained to the news site.
American Idol will kick off Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 8 p.m.
