'Gangnam Style' Psy Signs With Justin Bieber's Agency, U.S. Based 'Island Records'

It's now official that "Gangnam Style" creator Psy has signed onto Justin Bieber's agency, Island Records.  He was in talks with Scooter Braun in August and it looks like the results have been good for the rapper.  He is the first South Korean rapper to join the record family that includes Bieber, Bon Jovie, and Jennifer Lopez.

Psy's rep released a statement on September 3, 2012 that read, "Psy has signed on with Island Records for his management worldwide with the exception of Korea."

It has been confirmed that a digital remake of the song "Gangnam Style" will be done through Island Record.  Psy is expected to attend the Hollywood star-filled MTV Video Music Awards show.

The rumored U.S. version done by Justin Bieber has not be ruled out just yet.  A representative from the agency disclosed that their strategy involves promoting the original version first before taking any steps to create another version.

Mstarz readers have given their opinion on who they would like to see remaking a U.S. version.  In a recent poll battling between Justin Bieber, Eminem, Carly Rae Jepsen, Katy Perry and the original version, the majority of the votes went to Psy, though Bieber, Eminem and Perry received a fair amount of votes.

Britney Spears recently expressed her interest in doing the now famous "horse dance" invented by Psy.

We'll see whether any of these stars will appear on a parody or an actual remake of "Gangnam Style."
