City coach Manuel Pellegrini talked about the importance of thois tough week and also the bigger picture of the EPL.
"I think it is a very important month and a key week. We have to play for nine points in just one week," the coach said. "I don't think this week will decide the Premier League but it is important to be, as soon as we can, at the top of the table so we can so we have an advantage for the second round [of fixtures]."

Meanwhile, Burnley's Sean Dyche reflected on his Boxing Day loss to Liverpool ahead of this match.
"We had our pocket pinched today with how they got away with a win. It is as well as we have played, considering the opposition, since I have been at the club," he said. "If not totally dominant, we were very dominant. The challenge is not just to be excellent but to win."
