Leave it to rapper Kanye West to get deep and philosophical on curse words such as "bi##h." Even though West's track "Perfect Bi##h" has yet to even be released, the rapper has taken some heat in insinuating that the song describes his current girlfriend Kim Kardashian. Now West asks, what does the word "profanity" even really mean?
Check out the questions West poses to his Twitter fans - almost seems like a one-sided debate, but entertaining and somewhat enlightening nonetheless:
West's Twitter rant from Sunday, Sept. 2:
@kanyewest: "I usually never tweet questions but I struggle with this so here goes... Is the word BI##H acceptable?
@kanyewest: "To be more specific, is it acceptable for a man to call a woman a bi##h even if it's endearing?"
@kanyewest: "Even typing it in question form it's still feels harsh?"
@kanyewest: "Has hip hop conditioned us to accept this word? Do we love this word as much as we love the word NIG#A in an endearing way?"
@kanyewest: "correction, Here's the age old question, would we refer to our mothers as bi##hes? Would' we call our fathers nig#ers or better yet NIG#AS?"
@kanyewest: "If ni#ga is such a positive word, why do we feel so uncomfortable for white people to say it, even with a hall pass?"
@kanyewest: "Is it ok to use bi##h as long as we put BAD in front of it? Like you a BAD BI##H."
@kanyewest: "Perhaps the words BI##H and NI#GA are now neither positive or negative. They are just potent and it depends on how they are used and by whom?"
@kanyewest: "#FREETHOUGHT."
@kanyewest: "Feelings are the only facts."
@kanyewest: "quote: Excuse my French but I'm in France..."
@kanyewest: "What if there was no profanity... What if we decided to legalise profanity in a sense? In France they play songs with cursing on the radio."
@kanyewest: "please excuse any and all of my grammatical errors."
@kanyewest: "I was recently questioned about the use of the word BI##H in my music and initially was offended by anyone questioning anything in my music."
@kanyewest: "Stevie Wonder never had to use the word bi##h to get his point across."
@kanyewest: "I will admit that I sometimes go back an omit cursing from my records. I like to use profanity as a tool and not a crutch."
@kanyewest: "I'm not tweeting to say what we need and what we don't... I just wanted to think out loud with you guys today..."
@kanyewest: "#THEWORDBI##H."
Words of wisdom, Kanye.
