Get ready to Gleek out because one of the first performances from the all-new season of Glee has just been released. The series, which will kick off its sixth and final season in just a few days, has given all of us fans a special New Year's Eve gift as a musical number from the season premiere has just arrived. Darren Criss and Lea Michele star in the video as Criss's former glee club, The Warblers take on a song by Ed Sheeran.
In the clip, fans can see that Blaine Anderson and Rachel Berry have made it back to their hometown of Lima, Ohio and Blaine's old show tune buddies pull out all the stops to make them feel welcome. They even dust off Blaine's old Warbler uniform and have him put it on as he belts out a verse of Sheeran's song "Sing."
As for what will happen to the Glee gang during the final season, Lea Michele and Ryan Murphy spoke to Entertainment Tonight to give some details on Rachel and the rest of the gang.
"At the beginning of season six, we find out what happened with Rachel in Los Angeles and with the TV show and that gets really messed up," Michele explained. "She finds herself back in Ohio but for good reason because these kids need her and she's back to sort of re-boot the glee club."
While the series might be coming to an end, Murphy says that the ending will be "uplifting" for viewers.
"We've really listened to what the fans want," the creator explained. "Everything that I've been reading from the last four years about what the fans want from Glee is what they're going to get."
Does that mean happily ever after's for all the glee club members?
