Boyd Multerer, founder of Xbox Live and XNA and Xbox Director of Development, has quit Microsoft. The video game software developer announced on Twitter his week his departure from the company that he helped lead into the world of online and Next-Gen gaming. He also shared some gratitude towards his followers and answered some questions about his departure.

According to IGN, Multerer started working at Microsoft as a full-time employee in 1997. He founded the development team for Xbox Live in the year 2000 and in 2002 was the first person on the system's online network. From there, he went on to work with Xbox 360 OS teams before designing the Xbox One, the current model of Microsoft's gaming console.
The software engineer announced his departure via his Twitter account, explaining that his quitting was not due to any ill will felt towards his former company. Check out his Twitter posts right here:

Multerer was reportedly working on "unannounced secret stuff at Microsoft" before he made his announcement this week.
