It's finally that time of year - hockey season!
The New York Islanders battle it out on the ice against the Winnipeg Jets in Week 12 of the NHL regular season on Wednesday, December 31 at 5:00 p.m. EST at the MTS Centre in Manitoba. Read on to see where fans can watch and listen to a live stream of the New Year's Eve hockey game online and catch up-to-date feeds and coverage on highlight plays and scores.
Following the first few opening weeks of the 2014 regular season, the Islanders snag the impressive No. 9 spot in Scott Burnsides's official NHL power ranking for ESPN.com with a 24-11-1 record:
"A blown lead against the Sabres that led to a shootout loss on Saturday reinforces the lack of depth between the pipes when Jaroslav Halak is out of action (he might return this week)."
Meanwhile, the Jets currently hold the No. 10 spot (out of 30 total teams) with a 19-11-7 record. According to Burnside:
"Don't look now, but the Jets are tied with the Blues for the third spot in the Central. Rookie Michael Hutchinson continues to lead the league in GAA and save percentage."
The game will be broadcasted live on local channels MSG+ and TSN3, but fans can also listen in on the radio at KWSN, 740 The Fan, and TSN 1290.
