The MTV Video Music Awards 2012 (VMA) host Kevin Hart could not get some shut eye last night (September 5) due to his anticipation for surprises and performances in store for tonight's awards show. He posted on Twitter, "I can't f**king sleep......I keep thinking about the VMA'S......I so damn hype!!! Expect the unexpected #EvilLaugh" Those who cannot make it live, can still catch his evil laugh via live streaming.
The start time was moved one hour earlier to 8:00 p.m. EST so that it would not conflict with President Barack Obama's speech at the Democratic National Convention that is airing tonight at 10:00 p.m. EST.
Hart was not worried at the close timing at all. The comedian even told CNN confidently and jokingly, "I don't think they can compete. 'Cause it's me! You know at the end of the day, the world wants to see me."
A host of top Hollywood stars will step on stage to present awards to this past year's most popular artists. Rihanna and Drake topped the nomination list with five nominations each. Katy Perry also has an impressive four nominations.
"You have to expect the unexpected, I mean that's the beauty of having a live show. So literally- I'm welcoming the nonsense," Hart also said to CNN. "I hope something crazy DOES happen. It gives me more material, it gives me more stuff to play with so I honestly hope something does happen. I WANT Robert and Kristen to come. I want to see it! I want to see it be awkward. I want to see 'em not really speak and hug and try to pretend in front of the press. I think it'll be hilarious."
Tune in to watch the potential drama and highly anticipated performances tonight September 6, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. EST with the pre-show beginning at 7:00 p.m. EST. Click here for the LIVE STREAM.
