Alfonso Ribeiro dead rumors arose when a Facebook user claiming the actor has died set up a special RIP Alfonso Ribeiro page.  However, the "Fresh Prince of Bel Air" star tried to "find the positive" in the midst of a negative situation.

Ribeiro is probably aware of the numerous death hoaxes that have become common on social networks including Twitter and Facebook.  Every victim has thus far responded differently.

Recent death hoax victim Comedian John Witherspoon tweeted "I ain't dead!" and took the opportunity to promote his cooking show to all the well wishers.  Another victim Bill Cosby expressed his disappointment at the perpetrator.  He also posted more photos of his signature sweaters with interesting designs to show that he has moved on and that he is still some old Cosby.

When Ribeiro figured out that there was a rumor in town about his death, he took to his twitter to clear it up by writing, "I guess FB has a page saying I died. I wonder what people are gonna say at my funeral???"

His good friend Joey Fatone from the 90s boy band N*Sync joked about the silly hoax, "If u die u better tell me :)"

Ribeiro played along with it and wrote, "I'm gonna make sure I let you know first. Lol."

The actor felt the need to explain himself after he realized that the rumor was affecting his loved ones.  He tweeted "if u die u better tell me :)"I'm gonna make sure I let you know first. Lol."

"It's crazy how many people are calling me about this rumor," he explained on Twitter.   He ended his twitter feed.

"Thanks for all the love. In every situation you must find the positive," he added.
