Fox's 'Empire' Premiere: Twitter Reacts To Taraji P. Henson, Terrence Howard's TV Debut! [WATCH]

After months and months of teasers and promotions, Fox aired the season premiere of their eagerly anticipated new drama, Empire. Twitter had lots to say about Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson as they made their television debut as Luscious Lyon and his former love, Cookie Lyon.

According to TV Line's recap, Luscious (Howard) is a hip hop mogul who's interested in taking his company public and passing the torch to one of his three kids. The former Person of Interest actress plays Cookie, the ex-matriarch of the wealthy family who has just been released from prison. As murder and betrayals loom ahead, the company appears to be divided between the aspiring Jamal (Jussie Smollett), playboy rapper Hakeem (Bryshere Gray), and business savvy Andre (Trai Byers).

Congrats to the Hustle and Flow actor and his wife, who are expecting a child together. As we previously mentioned, rapper 50 Cent argues that Empire stole promotion and marketing tactics from his own popular Starz series, Power. Depending on ratings, audiences will decide though if the shows have something in common.
