Inked-up musicians Rihanna and Chris Brown both flaunted new tattoos to the public this month, causing quite a stir in regards to their already drama-packed relationship. The "We Found Love" songstress debuted a large center rib-cage tat in a Twitpic on Sunday in honor of her late grandmother. But it was Brown's premiere of his newest ink located on the side of his neck that turned the most heads - a face portrait of a woman that looks eerily similar to the R&B princess, and some critics insist it strongly depicts an image of Rihanna after she was brutally beaten by the "Don't Wake Me up" star.
Check out an image of Brown's "Rihanna-esque" tattoo here.
If Brown's new ink is indeed homage to his former squeeze, exactly what sort of message is he sending? The black-and-white portrait features a rather battered-up looking woman, flaunting a rather large black eye and what looks to be stitched-up lips.
Brown and his reps deny the Rihanna resemblance, and insist that the portrait is that of a "random woman."
On the Rihanna side of things, she tweeted this message along with her fresh ink pic on Sunday:
@rihanna: "Goddess Isis - Complete Woman - Model for future generations - #GRANGRANDOLLY - always in and on my heart #1love."
Beautiful reverence to a woman who was such an impactful force in Rihanna's life; but diehard fans can't help but notice the shape and location of this tat closely resembles one that former-beau Brown already sports...
The tumultuous relationship between Rihanna and Brown has caught headlines ever since Brown was charged with domestically abusing the "Where Have you Been" singer back in 2009 (which ultimately led to their breakup). Over the summer, 24-year-old Rihanna appeared on an episode of "Oprah's Next Chapter," where she admitted to the popular talk show host that her and Brown have "rebuilt their friendship" and that "she still loves him." The duo was also spotted together at last week's 2012 MTV VMAs, where they exchanged a friendly hug and a few quick kisses (leading to even more heated rumors that the two may be rekindling their romance).
So, what do fans think about all the celebrity tattoo hoopla, especially in regards to Brown's rather "controversial" ink?
