While The Flash is on its winter break on the CW network, new additions to the cast are already underway for the upcoming second half of the first season Will Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) be able to handle himself against the super villains, The Pied Pier and The Weather Wizard in Season 2?
In our first recap, Barry (Gustin)was struck by lightning and thrown into a vat of chemicals. After the particle accelerator explosion, Caitlin Snow (Danielle Panabaker) and Cisco Ramon (Carlos Valdes) have been studying Barry's newfound super-speed powers. As the scarlet speedster, they have been helping fight against the metahumans, who use their powers to harm Central City.
In the mid-season finale recap, while the Reverse-Flash and the Flash were racing across Central City, Caitlin discovered Ronnie was still alive, but mentally damaged from the explosion. When the Reverse-Flash came after Caitlin and Cisco, the Flash tried to stop him but was losing the fight. If it wasn't for Firestorm (Robbie Amell) and his powers, Barry would've gotten a worse beatdown.
UPDATE: The Hollywood Reporter has announced the early renewal of The Flash for its second season. CW president Mark Pedowitz said in a release ahead of his executive session. "By picking up these shows now, our executive producers can start planning next season's storylines, and rolling these shows out throughout next season guarantees The CW will have more proven original series for our fall, midseason and summer 2016 lineups."
According to The Wrap, 'Spartacus' star Liam McIntyre has joined the cast as the Weather Wizard. In the pilot, there were two passengers in the flying helicopter when the particle accelerator hit. Mark Madon (McIntyre) might want revenge after his brother was shot by Joe West (Jesse L. Martin) during his battle with the scarlet speedster.
Comic Book reports the January 27 episode, entitled The Sound and the Fury, Broadway star Andy Mientus will be introduced as the Pied Piper.
