Jessica Simpson Baby Picture in Bikini Overshadows Nick Lachey New Baby Boy with Vanessa Minnillo

Jessica Simpson's baby picture in a tiny two piece bikini received much attention and criticism overshadowing the birth of a newborn baby of ex-husband Nick Lachey's with wife Vanessa Minnillo. Simpson and Lachey's previous marriage was highly publicized and they even starred in their own reality TV show. Since the two divorced, they've moved on and even had babies in the same year.

Simpson appeared as one of the first guests on the new Katie Couric talk show and shared a picture of 4-month-old Maxwell in a yellow bikini.

"She's posing!" Simpson cried. "It's her very first time to put on a bikini."

Most of the crowd in attendance thought it was a cute sight however there was some backlash on the internet. A survey on Huffington Post revealed that 50% of the readers felt that the photo was no big deal while nearly 22% thought that babies shouldn't be dressed in bikinis at all.

In the midst of this Simpson baby drama, Lachey welcomed a newborn baby boy named Camdeb John Lachey.

The couple told People on September 13, 2012 after the birth of the child, "We are incredibly proud to announce the birth of our beautiful baby boy, Camden John Lachey."

"Born today at 6:54 p.m., he came into this world at 8 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches. Love has truly been redefined for both of us."
