The 87th annual Academy Awards ceremony takes place on Sunday, February 22, 2015, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center, but today, Jan. 15, we learn who what stars and movies will be nominated for the acclaimed Oscars! This year, actor Chris Pine of Star Trek and Into the Woods fame has been chosen to announce some nominees, along with directors J.J. Abrams and Alfonso Cuaron. According to the official website of the prestigious awards ceremony, the acclaimed directors will announce the nominees of the following categories: Animated Feature Film, Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, Film Editing, Original Song, Production Design, Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Visual Effects. Meanwhile, along with Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs, Pine will announce the nominees in the rest of the categories, which are the following: Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Cinematography, Costume Design, Directing, Foreign Language Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Original Score, Adapted Screenplay, Original Screenplay and Best Picture.
