Coach Brendan Rodgers of Liverpool explained this week that his squad is ready to give their best efforts today.

"We're starting to return to the flow of our game and that is now getting us positive results," Rodgers said, according to PremierLeague.com. "We're defending strong and creating opportunities. The players are growing in confidence after a difficult period."

Meanwhile, Villa's coach, Paul Lambert, asked his fans to cancel a planned protest during today's match.

"Whoever has planned it, I hope the guy or girl next to them tries to keep them on their seat. I understand the fans' frustrations, but we'll have a better chance of winning a game of football if they don't do it and if they stick with the lads, no matter how hard it gets at times," the manager said, according to the Daily Star. "When the stadium is behind the players it's a great place to play football, and we've a better chance of winning if they don't do it."
