With another DC Comics title making their rounds on TV, casting rumors have already begun for TNT. Based on the Teen Titans series, actor Steven R. McQueen is reportedly vying for a role on Titans as Batman's former boy wonder, Robin, all grown up and known by his new name as Nightwing.
In the DC Comics Universe, Robin formed a team with other teen superheroes, such as Wally West aka Kid Flash, and Beast Boy.Together, they faced off against the X-Men and Slade Wilson, known as Deathstroke the Terminator. Titans revolves around Batman's former sidekick-turned superhero as he puts together a band of new superheroes. Classic Titans characters, such as Starfire and Raven, will be making their way to the live-action series.
According to Comics Alliance, the Vampire Diaries actor is lobbying for the superhero role. Though he's departing from the popular CW show, executive producer Julie Plec mentioned McQueen is welcome to return to the show, "unless he finally gets his wish to play a superhero and he's unavailable."
The Piranha 3D actor even tweeted a picture of himself working out at the gym. The snapshot even has "Nightwing training," captioned and tagging Arrow executive, Greg Berlanti, in the tweet. If he really wants the role so badly, they should at least let him audition, am I right?
The Flash executive producer, Geoff Johns, also mentioned on Twitter he expected to pilot to start shooting next year..

As we previously mentioned, in the comics, the boy wonder has grown up and become a globe-trotting spy with his own solo series, titled Grayson from writers Tim Seeley, Tom King, and artist Mikael Janin, which we highly recommend picking up. A high concept idea, Grayson is a superhero/spy comic but with none of the costumed heroes involved.
The pilot of Titans will start filming in 2015. Readers, would like to see Steven R. McQueen as Nightwing on the show?
