AMC has released a new trailer for the second half of Season 5 of The Walking Dead, and it looks like Rick and crew are back on the road facing new threats when new episodes return.
Check out the trailer, called "Surviving Together," below:
In case you missed it, the show has further expanded its cast roster for Season 5, and the latest edition could be a crucial one.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Ross Marquand will come aboard the hit show as a series regular for the second half of Season 5. The character's details are being kept under wraps, but THR reports that Marquand could continue as a series regular in Season 6, for which AMC has already renewed the show.
Speculation has already begun that Marquand will play Aaron, a pivotal character in Robert Kirkman's comic on which the show is based. In the books, Aaron is a resident of the Alexandria Safe Zone, which is by far the longest-running setting the series has featured to date. Aaron is a recruiter who works his boyfriend, Eric, to find new people to bring into Alexandria.
Aaron seems like the most likely candidate based on the given information. He first shows up in the book in Issue 67 when Rick and his group are on the road to Washington, D.C. The television show is just about at this point, as the group is reunited and on the road looking for a new home. The trip to Washington has also been a focal point of the first half of Season 5.
Moreover, Kirkman has confirmed on Talking Dead that a "prominent" gay character would make his debut in the second half of Season 5.
