The Big Bang Theory is one of the most popular shows on television, and the CBS sitcom is currently rolling through Season 8. But what makes the show such a ratings hit?
The cast of the series spoke to EW.com and offered their opinions. Check out their answers below:
Jim Parsons: "[Co-creator] Chuck [Lorre] was a musician before he was a writer, and one thing all of these shows have in common is a rhythm. These shows [perform strongly when in repeats]. You've seen them three times, but it's like a pop song-its got rhythm...He'll come in when were rehearsing and clean it up."
Simon Helberg: "He's a barometer for the truth. Like Jim was saying about the rhythm, he has perfect pitch for the truth. You know if [we hear] Chuck laughing, you know the majority of people will also laugh."
Producer Bill Prady: "To Simon's point, Chuck genuinely enjoys the shows he's producing-and that's not always true. Some make shows that they think others will enjoy."
Melissa Rauch: "[Chuck is] the comedy whisperer."
In the "Ask Ausiello" column at TVLine, showrunner Steve Molaro addresses the possibility of Bernadette getting pregnant this year.
"Question: Any The Big Bang Theory scoop? -Alek
Ausiello: Still no bun in Bernadette's oven. At least 'not at the moment,' says exec producer Steve Molaro, who adds with a laugh, 'Bernadette already has a baby in her life, his name is Howard.'"
