It's a sad weekend in the world of Bravo as the network has just lost one of their beloved stars Greg Plitt. News broke yesterday that the reality TV star and fitness expert was struck by a train in Burbank, California. The star was featured on the fitness series Work Out from 2006 to 2008 and just recently made his way back to the network to star in their new series, Friends to Lovers, which premiered at the beginning of this month.
According to E! News, the star was filming something along the tracks before being struck by a train around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday (Jan. 17).
"We received an emergency call from Metrolink Train and witnesses at the scene," a spokesperson for the fire department and paramedic's team explained in a statement. "There was some type of filming occurring at the time but we don't know what it was for."
In Bravo's newest reality series Friend to Lovers, Greg appeared with his best friend Melanie Marden to see if the two could take their relationship from friend status to romantic.
The network, as well as Andy Cohen, opened up on their Twitter accounts about the tragic accident.
"This is a terrible tragedy," the network wrote, "Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Grey Plitt's family and friends at this extremely difficult time."
Andy also wrote, "We couldn't take our eyes off Greg Plitt after we cast him on Work Out — was as nice as he was beautiful. Seemed invincible, like Superman."
