'Gangnam Style' MTV EMA 2012: Nominee for Best Video Against Katy Perry, Rihanna, Lady Gaga, M.I.A.

Psy's Gangnam Style finally received its first nomination for best music video at the MTC European Music Awards.  Psy is up against Katy Perry's "Wide Awake", Lady Gaga's "Marry the Night", M.I.A.'s "Bad Girls", and Rihanna's "WE Found Love" feature Calvin Harris.  

Psy barely became known in America, let alone any country outside of South Korea until recently.  His "Gangnam Style" music video was uploaded on July 15th, 2012 and instantly became a viral hit with nearly 200 million Youtube views.

He couldn't contain his excitement and tweeted, "OMG~!!! I am nominated 'BEST VIDEO' at #EMA~!!! 유럽 MTV 시상식(EMA) 베스트 비디오 후보 올랐다네요...비현실적임 ㅠ,ㅠ~!!!! ㅋㅋ"

Things are moving quickly for the American newbie, South Korean veteran rapper.  

The rapper recently signed up with an American label, Schoolboy Records, which is home to pop stars Justin Bieber, Carly Rae Jepsen and The Wanted.
