Fox has released new teasing info about the Batman prequel, Gotham. Two classic DC Comics characters are about to meet on the television screen, will Oswald Cobblepot/Penguin (Robin Taylor) and Edward Nygma/The Riddler (Cory Michael Smith) become "dynamic allies" against Jim Gordon?
In our previous recap, Jim met Dr. Leslie Tompkins (Morena Baccarin) and discovered a heinous plot within Arkham Asylum. While Jim ended up losing an inmate, The Electroutioner, Fish (Jada Pinkett Smith) made a play with one of her rivals to take down Carmine Falcone. Oswald (Taylor) took his rightful name as The Penguin and even started disobeying Sal Maroni (David Zayas)'s orders.
In our recent recap, Jim and Harvey Bullock (Donal Logue) had 24 hours to find the Elecrocutioner or lose their badges for good. While Jim brought down the super villain, the Penguin revealed the truth about Carmine Falcone's mistress, who is a mole working for Fish Mooney. While holding Fish hostage, Falcone strangled his mistress to death with his own bare hands.
Taylor reveals to IGN the two Batman baddies will meet in an upcoming episode, "I'm such a huge fan of Cory [Michael Smith]'s, and I can tease that we do have a moment. Penguin and Riddler meet, coming up, which is one of my favorite things that we've shot in the entire series. It's just one scene, but the dynamic between the two of them, they're such oddballs and they're so different from each other in the way that they're odd, you know?"

In the comics, Riddler knows he is much smarter than the Penguin. Will these two get along in the TV show? The Gotham actor reveals, "I just cannot wait to see where that goes. Not just that, but also having a scene with another classic Batman villain -- which hasn't really happened yet. I mean, I think Fish Mooney is now a classic villain, but not until this series -- but not ones from the comics. It's such an amazing moment. I'm really excited for it."
With the news of Gotham being renewed for a second season, maybe their team-up will develop over time?
Gotham returns to Fox on Mondays at 8pm.
Readers, are you excited to see Welcome Back, Jim?
