Rapper A$AP Rocky opened up about the sudden death of his friend and A$AP Mob founder, Steven Rodriguez aka A$AP Yams who was laid to rest on Sunday in New York City's Frank E. Campbell Funeral Home.
Friday, the rapper spoke to Billboard about dedicating his short set to A$AP Yams, "That performance -- that was just going to stop me from crying," Rocky added, "I had to address it, because the whole time I was rapping and I wasn't into it, which is sad, but I just gotta keep it real. I can't front. It's even harder knowing that I gotta fly out in less than an hour just to go bury him. That's the part that eats at me."
Sunday ASAP Rocky posted an Instagram photo for his friend captioned, "R.I.P YAMS, I LOVE YOU BROTHER."
ASAP Ferg also wrote, "You will be missed Bro. We done touched a lot of ground together, landed on a lot of different soil," A$AP Ferg wrote on Tumblr. "You will always be loved & your spirit will live on!"
Many have suspected that the rapper died of a drug overdose, however, ASAP Ant spoke to Vlad TV about their sudden death, "It ain't no overdose." He said denying that he died from overusing Xanax pills, "That's not what it is."
