Just before last year's Super Bowl kicked off, Fox News host Bill O'Reilly was named the man who would interview President Barack Obama for the pre-game interview. And after he was met with many slams and negative comments following the interview – in which it seemed he somewhat bullied the President – it looks like the networks decided to go with safer, yet still entertaining personality for the 2015 NFL games: Savannah Guthrie. It was recently announced that the Today anchor and co-host to Matt Lauer will interview the President before the 2015 Super Bowl.
Deadline notes that Guthrie was recently given the gig, which will air live from the White House. She will additionally tape "back-and-forth" for Today in order to be available the next morning.
The site also notes that while Guthrie will be sitting down with the President before the game, NBC's coverage of the Super Bowl will begin at 12 p.m. ET.
After news broke, the famed NBC morning show immediately took to their Twitter page to congratulate their well-deserved anchor:

Of course, this isn't the first time Guthrie will be interviewing the President. She did so a while back for NBC Nightly News with Brian Williams. Watch that interview here:
As mentioned, Guthrie comes after Bill O'Reilly was ridiculed for allegedly bullying the POTUS, asking, "Do you think I'm being unfair to you?"
To the question, Obama answered, "Absolutely. Of course you are, Bill. We just went through an interview in which you asked about healthcare not working, IRS: were we wholly corrupt, Benghazi. These kind of things keep on surfacing, in part, because you and your TV station will promote them."
