Gangnam Style Meaning, Definition According to the 'Urban Dictionary'

Gangnam Style received a special entry in the Urban Dictionary online.  There is a list of four definitions describing the meaning of the word "Gangnam Style."  The phrase was made popular by Psy's latest international hit song "Gangnam Style" which has been viewed over 220 million times on Youtube.

According to one of the definitions listed on the Urban Dictionary:

Gangnam Style is mainly the same as SWAG, but differs in a couple of ways. People with Gangnam Style do not end up at McDonalds.

Although you will never have the same amount of Gangnam Style as Park Jae-Sang, you can still walk with your nose in the air and point and laugh at the misfortunate human beings with absolutely no Gangnam Style if you in fact do have a large amount of said Style.

Another definition listed gives more detailed information:

"Gangnam" means "south(nam) of the river(gang)" in Korean. In this song, the "river(gang)" is the Han River, which penetrates the City of Seoul, capital of South Korea. The northern part of Seoul(gangbuk) has been the capital of Korea since the early 15th century. Development of Gangnam and expansion of Seoul started in 1970s. Gangnam is the icon of the rapid economic development of South Korea in 1970s and 80s. Mostly benefited from skyrocketing real estate price followed by planned economic development, Gangnam has become the most wealthy area in the entire South Korea. "Gangnam" is being regarded as the place where people are rich, girls are pretty and everything is supposed to be cool.

Psy, whose real name is Park Jae-Sang, is now making appearances in America to promote the song "Gangnam Style."  It's being played on American radio now even though the entire song is mostly in Korean.  As people say, it's a viral phenomenon.
