Are Kathie Lee Gifford's days at Today numbered? The host of the popular series has been with the program for seven years, as a host of the hit fourth hour of the morning talk show. However, the staple on the NBC series is thinking of heading for the door after an alleged fight with the news network's president Deborah Turness.
Radar Online revealed that Kathie had a huge blowout with Turness after her refusal to air Gifford's musical titled, Not Today and Tomorrow's Not Looking Good Either. The 18-minute musical, which we are sure was going to be a cinematic masterpiece, never made it to air, as Deborah reportedly took it out of the broadcast lineup.
"Kathie had a huge fight with Deb and the talk in the hallways is that she's done," a high level insider explained to The National Enquirer, according to Radar.
The musical was reportedly "suppose to air before NBC's Peter Pan Live in December," however the number has yet to have found a home on the network, and hasn't even been broadcasted during Today.
People announced the news of a musical earlier this summer, and Kathy couldn't contain her excitement, saying, "It's going to be live and it's going to be so much fun."
Not having the musical make it to air has left Gifford "furious," and "betrayed," according to the news site.
So will Kathie get up and walk out on her post leaving her cohost Hoda Kotb solo? Well it is being reported that she wants nothing more than to leave, as an act of revenge.
"It's been one of the show's few successes during its slide to second place behind ABC's Good Morning America," the source revealed of Kathie and Hoda's segment of the show.
While the site is reporting that things are headed for a shakeup at the news broadcast, as Savannah Guthrie, Willie Geist, and Natalie Morales jobs are all "on the chopping block," our one question isn't who will take the places of the anchors, but rather, will we ever get to see the Kathie Lee musical?
