Just hours away, viewers are anxious to see the Season 3 premiere of The Americans on FX. As the spy/family drama picks up from its previous cliff-hanger, will Elizabeth (Keri Russell) and Philip Jennings (Matthew Rhys)' risk betraying their daughter, Paige Jennings, and follow orders "out of love?"
As we previously mentioned, in a Washington, D.C. suburban neighborhood, during the '80s, two KGB spies Elizabeth (Russell) and Philip (Rhys) pose as an American married couple. With their children kept in the dark, the Jennings have to keep their innocent kids away from their neighbor. Right across from them is Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich), an dogged FBI agent who is just one step away from blowing their cover.
In the second season finale, Elizabeth and Philip discover the Center wants to recruit their daughter, Paige. Will the Jennings follow orders and tell their innocent daughter about their secret lifestyle? Actress Holly Taylor teases what's up ahead for her teen character caught in the crossfire, "Whatever decision that they come to, for Paige especially, decides her whole future. It also decides their future as a family."
According to TV Line, during the Television Critics Association winter press tour panel, Russell revealed that Elizabeth's actions, "come out of great love for her daughter and wanting her to be a substantial human being. How do you navigate the world if you don't know who you are?"

The former Felicity actress adds that there will be a wedge between the husband and wife spies, "Every time Philip rejects the idea of telling [Paige who they are], it's that weird marital dance of Elizabeth feeling rejected by Philip. You're rejecting everything I am."
