Katy Perry's Super Bowl 49 halftime show is getting bigger and better as the "Roar" singer today teased a secret female performer alongside "lions and sharks" and singing scarf Lenny Kravitz for her halftime extravaganza. In her Super Bowl press conference Perry also confirmed two of the songs she'll be playing, unsurprisingly revealing that "Roar" and "Firework" will make an appearance and that she will sing live during the 17-odd minutes she'll perform during halftime. At least she got in a "I'm only here so I din't get fined," Marshawn Lynch joke. Well done, Ms Perry.
As for someone asking an excruciatingly tired question about a possible wardrobe malfunction, Perry replied "I can only control myself." Presumably before rolling her eyes at such a hack question.

As USA Today pointed out the singer "deflected any controversy with ease" joking "I don't think I'm so much of an expert on the game of football, but I can assure everyone in here, nothing in my performance will be deflated."
After picking the Seahawks to beat the Patriots and awkwardly gushing about apparent good friend of God Russell Wilson, Perry also promised Lenny Kravtiz and an incredibly "soulful and sexy" performance... but also added that the show will include "Lion and sharks", plenty of costumes and teased Rob Gronkowski for singing "Firework."

As for her special secret guest, Perry promised "a real female fun night" adding that the guest will "be a bit old school" and whoever it is, "jaws will drop and faces will melt."
So. Madonna? Cher? Beyonce? Um... Bette MIdler?

She also talked about how she called "boss lady" when it comes to how much sway and creative direction and input she's had for the halftime show, and how grateful she is for the opportunity especially "at this age," and that she's taking performing her songs "spiritual experience"
"I've been designing this show for months," she revealed, adding that "It's a larger than life show. I've collaborated on everything. There is not a diamond on a shoe that has not gone past my eyes. I'm so prepared for this show that I even had time for Netflix the other night."
Her entries and exists, she promised, have "Never been done before," after saying that she'll be singing live during the show, but there'll be "a lot of "graphic effects," too.
"I'm so excited; I''m probably more excited than anyone else," bleated the dead-eyed singer. Check out the full press conference and halftime show preview below.
