'Gangnam Style' Knocks LMFAO 'Party Rock Anthem' Down As New Guinness World Record Holder

Psy's "Gangnam Style" is busy knocking down old records.  Most recently, it topped the Guinness World Record for the most "liked" music video in all of internet history, knocking down LMFAO's previous record with "Party Rock Anthem".  The "Gangnam Style" music video that launched in July 15th, 2012 already has 2,543,693 likes.  Before LMFAO, Justin Bieber's "Baby" music video held the title with 1,328,914 likes.

"Gangnam Style" currently has 256 million views on Youtube, and expected to surpass Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe" video within a few days.

It was recently nominated for the Best Video at the MTV European Music Awards in the same category as world stars Rihanna, Katy Perry among others.  

It's already set many records already since its introduction to world via Youtube.  It became the first Asian solo artist to top the iTunes chart at No. 1.  It also climbing the Billboard Hot 100 chart and On-Demand Songs chart.  

"Psy's official promotional activities in the U.S. are just beginning, so he will accomplish much more," director of Universal Music Korea Lee Kwan-hee said, "He has about an even chance of topping the [chart]."

The world is watching to see how far this one hit wonder will go.  Will the craze end just as most viral wonders end to make space for the next one?  Or is this the beginning of something bigger?
